Three leave CMU football program

Freshman linebacker Nores Fradi along with walk-on players Zach Wiersma and Matt Maletzke are no longer members of the CMU football program.

The loss of Fradi is a big one as he was a promising linebacker and just a true freshman. It is unknown why Fradi decided to leave, but he was one of the highest-rated recruits in the 2010 class. Fradi was an all-state selection while at Dearborn High School. He entered fall camp 6-0, 210-pounds.

Maletzke, a 6-1, 231-pound defensive lineman was a sophomore in eligibility and had seen the field one time in his career, against Alcorn State in 2009.

Wiersma, a 6-4, 275-pound offensive lineman was entering his redshirt freshman season after not seeing the field during his true freshman season.

  1. It's not uncommon for guys to leave programs, especially if a few of the guys were counting on playing for Butch Jones. Fradi might end up at Eastern (with Ron English)

  2. If that's true, what a great move, going to Eastern-leaving a beautiful college campus in Mt Pleasant to go to the armpit of SE Michigan and play for a program running the table at 0-14 since last season.
