Everyone needs to cool out
Butch Jones has not reached a deal with Marshall and is not on a place to accept the job. Footballcoachscoop.com will post anything. They were the FIRST TO REPORT Brian Kelly not becoming the next Notre Dame coach and Jim Harbaugh becoming the next Kansas coach. How did that turn out? I just wish this would come to an end soon. All of this rumor mill stuff has to be taking an effect on recruiting. I get the feeling that Jones is anxious to get out of here, be it Marshall or Cincinnati. That’s fine, he has done a good job at CMU and I wish him the best of luck.
As an alum and supporter of the program (proud 1100 club member!), I am hoping that we get some clarity on the situation quickly. If Jones chooses to leave, I would rather it happen soon so we can get our own coaching situation figured out. We seem to have a very promising recruiting class, with the coaching situation as murky as it is, I would like to see the next guy hired quickly so he can have ample time to re-solidify those commitments.
